Terms of use
Working document requiring review before publication
Technical version dated 24 August 2026. It is not legal or tax advice and must not be published to production before review.
1. Purpose
These terms govern access to the Fenua API portal, documentation, developer account and V1 API. Creating an account means accepting the version then in force.
2. Account
Users provide a valid address, protect access credentials and promptly report compromise. Accounts are individual; organisations and teams are outside V1.
3. API keys
Keys are confidential, sent only in the X-API-Key header, and must never be published, put in a URL or embedded in a public client. Revoke compromised keys immediately.
4. Acceptable use
Users must not bypass quotas, disrupt the service, perform unauthorised security testing, harvest personal data, resell raw access contrary to licences, or use the API unlawfully.
5. Availability and changes
The service is operated with care but without an absolute availability guarantee. Breaking contract changes use a new major version; data corrections may be released under a new DATA version.
6. Suspension
Pacific Knowledge may suspend a key or account for abuse, a security incident, definitive non-payment or breach of these terms, with notice when circumstances allow.
7. Data and attribution
Reuse remains subject to licences stated in the documentation. ODbL may require attribution and share-alike terms for some derived databases.
8. Deletion and contact
Users can export their data and request deletion from the dashboard. Records subject to a legal retention duty may be isolated until that duty expires. Contact: contact@pacificknowledge.dev.
9. Governing law
Applicable law and competent courts must be confirmed by the publisher’s legal adviser before commercial launch.
